I actually did it!  I stuck to my plan!  Yeah!

Paper:  Whisper White CS, Tempting Turquois CS, Bali Breeze DP

Stamps:  Warm Words

Accessories:  Oval Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8 Circle Punch

You make me happy!

Ok – so this was for SCS challenge TLC156 and it was given on Monday and here it is Saturday and I am finally getting around to making it.  Actually, I shouldn’t have done this at all!  So, when I was making this Andrew and his brother were moving us.  Yep, it’s moving day and I am playing in the craft room.  Well, it’s Moving day part 1.  We are moving the garage, basement and outdoor stuff … the inside stuff is going to be moved on Thursday.  I have so much to do … and everytime I think I need to get started I start working on something else, or I sit my butt on the couch and do Nothing!  LOL  I am just SO NOT motivated!  But I work best under pressure and I really have no choice starting on Monday so why not just wait … that was my motto during grad school, I used to write 10-20 page papers hours before class.  I would sit down in front of the computer and just start typing, and sometimes I was still doing research while typing.  I am horrible!  This technique does not work for everyone … but it sure does for me!

But anyway, I made this little pouch for my sweetie and I stuffed it with peppermint patties to say thanks for all he does and for moving us while I play and watch the little man!  🙂  My job was much more fun!

Happy Birthday Cards

Posted by emileehathaway on February 21, 2008

img_1150.jpg

I really wanted to make something this week but was unable to keep up with any of the SCS challenges.  But I needed to make a couple of birthday cards so I sat down and absolutely drew a blank!  LOL.  So I cased both of these cards.  The first card was cased from Teneale Williams and the second from Rochelle Wick.

On the first card I used a 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 piece of Rose Red then a 1 1/2 inch piece of Always Artichoke and a small piece of Pumpkin Pie with the Happy Birthday sentiment.  The presents are from the Birthday Whimsy SAB set and the ribbon is the satin 1 inch Choc Chip ribbon.

The second card is for my brother whose absolute favorite color is orange.  So, I used Choc Chip as by base (of course!) and then a piece of Pumpkin Pie.  I used the small stamp from One of a Kind for the top to create some patterned paper.  I used my Mini Monograms Cricut Cartridge for the scallops.  Then I stamped the cake from the Birthday Whimsy SAB set.

I almost didn’t get this set, but after making these couple of cards I am actually starting to really like it.  I still have 2 more birthday cards to make, so I will definitely use it again … and NO casing!  LOL.

Scrapbook Sunday #1 – Oh Dad!

Posted by emileehathaway on February 17, 2008

Ok – so you can probably tell I think Beate is amazing! and I check out her blog quite a bit!

Well, she does scrapbook Sunday’s and that got me thinking …

I LOVE to scrapbook, but just haven’t been very good about it lately, so I thought I would totally steal her idea and try it.  I have so much to do, but I thought I would start small and force myself to do a page a week.  But if you think about it, that’s 52 pages in a year, and that’s a whole book.  Right now I am in the process of creating a 6×6 brag book of my little guy, so here is what I came up with today.  In the picture Kyler is 15 days old and his dad is already teaching him to pick his nose … they make the perfect pair!  (Don’t you agree Mel?)

I used some DP paper I had lying around and Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery CS and blue grosgrain ribbon.  The letters were cut with the Zooballoo Cricut cartridge.

This only took about 20 minutes, but I’m happy with it.  After the baby goes to bed, I might do a corresponding page.  With all that’s going on in my life I hope that I can stick with my new plan!  LOL.

Decorated Tins

I made the cards tin a long time ago, but last night I made the cuttlebug tin because I needed something to store all my cuttlebug embossing folders in.  Theses are just provo craft tins decorated with Stampin’ Up! designer paper and ribbon.  I used my Cricut to cut out the words and on the Cuttlebug tin, I used my new rub ons on the corners.

Quick Birthday

I made this quick birthday card this morning.  I just used the scraps from yesterday and it only took about 5 minutes.  Pretty cute for the time I put into it, I think!

Beate’s WSC #35, Thanks a bunch!

Posted by emileehathaway on February 15, 2008

img_1132.jpg

Here is what I came up with for this week’s challenge.  I really like it except the oval sentiment on the bottom … I screwed up on the distressing and now there are huge lines above “Thanks a bunch!”  Oh, well!

I started with a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Always artichoke, then layered Rose Red on top.  I scalloped the edges with my PC scissors and drew white dots with my signo pen.  I added a piece of sheer ribbon next the scallops as well.  I took a piece of 3 x 3 1/2 piece of choc chip and 1/8 smaller piece of barely banana.  I got my SU! shipment yesterday and just HAD to use my new Rub Ons, so, the rub ons are the new Love and Happiness from the SAB catalog.  (No stamping today).  I used the jumbo eyelets and inserted pink rhinestone brad for the middle.  I also cased Beate’s idea for the choc chip ribbon, I have had it for FOREVER!  But never used it, so I thought today would be a perfect chance.

Hope you like it!!

YEAH!!! I am so excited …

Posted by emileehathaway on February 12, 2008

Our house finally sold!!! I can not tell you how happy I am!!!

I have been so quiet lately because we have had 10 showings in like 3 days, plus I was getting ready for club last week … Well, Friday this couple came through and put an offer in on Sunday, we countered on Sunday night and Monday they accepted!!!  This has been the longest process ever – it has taken longer for this house than it did for me to carry my baby and then give birth!  (our house was on the market for 10 months)

But all joking aside … I am happy, but mostly relieved that the house sold and we can move on … literally.  So, if I am quiet it’s ’cause I’m packin’!!!

Valentines is Over … Almost

I finally finished my Valentines cards … Here are a few pics of them.  I think they turned out pretty cute.  I got them off in the mail yesterday, so hopefully everyone gets them by Monday.  I think I already said this, but I usually just use the same card layout/design for all my holiday cards … but this has been super fun making a different card for each person!
